Attorney Matechik established his law practice in Sarasota, Florida, to help the people of Sarasota and Manatee Counties navigate the complex systems governing assets and healthcare. He offers personalized service at an affordable cost. He is committed to helping clients of all ages and backgrounds better prepare themselves, and their families, for the future.

Before practicing law, Attorney Matechik served the United States as an intelligence officer in the Washington DC area for nearly a decade. He is thrilled to have returned to his native Florida to pursue his passion for law and serve the coastal communities he loves.

Attorney Matechik is a member of the Florida Bar’s Elder Law Section, Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section, Solo & Small Firm Section, and the Young Lawyers Division. He serves as the 12th Circuit Representative for the Thomas E. Penick Jr. Elder Law American Inn of Court. Attorney Matechik holds a B.A. in International Affairs magna cum laude from Florida State University and a J.D. cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Attorney Matechik serves as the Chair of the Sarasota County Bar Association Elder Law Section . He is also a proud member of the Florida State Guardianship Association, National Academy of Elder Law and the Penick Inn of Court.

Summer Kobata

Summer is the firm’s senior paralegal with more than 15 years of experience in probate and guardianships, specializing in fiduciary accountings. Expert organization and robust analytical skills allow Summer to provide an informative, efficient, and reliable experience for clients and colleagues alike. She is certified in the Japanese Art of Tidying, studied Philosophy at State College of Florida and is pursuing mastery of the Italian language. Summer is passionate about genealogy, raising fiddle leaf fig trees, and traveling with her husband.

Jill Woodall

Jill, the firm’s legal assistant, graduated summa cum laude from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Psychology. Her professional background includes management, operations, compliance, and client relations with additional experience in human resources, payroll, and accounting. Jill excels in creating an inviting, courteous and efficient experience for prospective and represented clients. She is an animal lover that supports local rescues, including fostering and adopting.
